Seemed like we’re alone in the island with these dogs (dogs can be great tour guides!) while we took an early stroll along the beach. Everything was just so peaceful.
Approximately one kilometer away from Basilan capital city of Isabela, Malamawi is a small inhabited island made famous by the long stretch of white sandy beach on its northern coast. The locals consider it as the Maldives of the south Philippines. With its exotic appeal, idyllic natural beauty and serenity, the place has become a go-to place of locals specially those from Isabela city, suburbs and even locals from Zamboanga city who wish to escape for sea, sun, and fine white sand experience.
With its increasing popularity even to outsiders, the local government has secured, developed, and transformed a part of the beach into a resort with facilities and activities for tourists.
