Orion beer is produced by Orion Breweries Ltd. Although the beer can be seen throughout Japan, and other sections of Asia (as well is the USA), Okinawa is its main hub – with Orion Beer occupying about 60% of the beer market on Okinawa island.
Orion is known for using local spring water in their beer, giving it its fresh taste.
Started in 1957, this company first struggled with intense competition within the beer industry in Japan. In order to appeal to a larger audience, the company switched its recipe to become more “Americanized” which helped achieved its growth.
I had seen Orion beer several times, and on those several occasions indulged myself. Passing through the city of Nagu, we had to stop and enjoy this free brewery tour. Included in the tour are to free beer. That’s right! A free factory tour. Oh, and did I mention, Free beer?
We highly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this to anyone! For additional information, consult our website at www.joshthetravelguy.ca for a complete travel guide for this location.
