Ancient shrines on the road to Mt. Fuji? That’s what you’ll find with Kitaguchi Hongu Fuji Sengen Shrine, the sacred starting point for pilgrimages to the summit of Mt. Fuji during the Edo period. Located in Yamanashi Prefecture, ancient stone lanterns lead to a massive shrine gate and main building, which is surrounded by thousand-year-old trees. Note: Right now, Australia, Japan and the world have taken on countermeasures to curb the spread of coronavirus. To those of you who have cancelled or postponed your trips to Japan, we’re looking forward to welcoming you once this is all over. 📷 Stunning capture by @luxlusive. #VisitJapanAU #Tradition
