Sitting on the border of Nagano and Gunma Prefectures is Mount Asama, and the area surrounding the mountain has a range of interesting alpine plants and lava rocks. There’s also this beautiful spot: Mount Asama Kannon, dedicated to the Buddhist goddess of compassion.
