EXPERIENCE A TRADITIONAL JAPANESE ‘GASSHO-ZUKURI’ VILLAGE LIT UP IN SNOWY SPLENDOR!!
Gassho-zukuri are traditional homes built with wooden beams combined to form a steep thatched roof that resembles two hands together. You can find gassho-zukuri homes in Gokayama, a registered as World Heritage Site. Located in Nanto city, Toyama Prefecture, Gokayama is comprised of two villages, Ainokura and Suganuma. In February 2020, you’ll be able to experience these villages illuminated in lights, surrounded by fresh mountain snow.
