Off to Hokkaido, it’s time to review one of the domestic terminals of Tokyo’s Haneda Airport. This impressive airport consists of 5 stories, so there is plenty of space to see what makes HND T2 unique! At the end of the video, I share my tips of HND – T2 so your trip can have a great start!
*Note*
As mentioned in this video, security took an outstanding 40 minutes to clear. I filmed this in October during the ceremonies for Japan’s new Emperor. The notable dignitaries in Tokyo during this time lead to enhanced security measures.
My critique comes from two valid points.
1. Not all security lines and machines were in operation. I understand the need for enhanced security measures, however, it’s frustrating seeing multiple machines sit idle while the line is so long staff must call customers so they don’t miss their flight.
2. Tokyo is a world-class city and having dignitaries and world leaders fly in is almost a regular affair here. I feel as if the airport should have protocols since enhanced security is, relatively speaking, frequent.
Having world leaders in Tokyo is a bit random, so it’s entirely possible that this may be the case if you find yourself here. This, along with navigating an unfamiliar airport in and unfamiliar country adds to the layer of unease some may feel.
