I Explored Japan’s Forbidden Ghost Island (Gunkanjima)

Hashima Island, also known as Gunkanjima or “Battleship Island,” is one of the most haunting places I’ve ever visited. Just a few kilometers off the coast of Nagasaki, this island was once home to thousands of coal miners and their families—until it was suddenly abandoned in 1974.

In this video, I take you through the crumbling hallways, empty schools, and eerie apartments left behind. We’ll look at what life was like here, why the island was shut down, and what’s being done to preserve it today.

This is not just a ghost town—it’s a piece of history trapped in time.
