TOKYO — The Port of Tokyo is expanding capacity to accommodate a growing number of international cruise ships that have been arriving in Japan since the end of the coronavirus pandemic.
A new cruise ship terminal is scheduled to go into operation inside Harumi Wharf in November. It will be built at the site of the old Harumi Passenger Ship Terminal, which was demolished in 2022. The terminal last accepted a cruise ship in February 2020 and remained dormant due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
