Castles are a major activity in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, tasking you with killing their tough Samurai Daisho to unlock a Legendary Chest in the keep. Each Daisho awards a Mastery Point, and you may also find a Kano Painting or Valuable object in a Castle, as well as a lot of loot and resources. In this section of our AC Shadows guide, we’ll help you get everything inside Osaka Castle!

Osaka Castle Walkthrough Location: Izumi Settsu – Osaka Rewards: 3,000 XP 3 Mastery Points Legendary Light Armor – Peasant Clothes Engraving – Assassination with Attack
The Osaka Castle is located in, well, Osaka, a sub-region at the mouth of the river flowing through Izumi Settsu. It’ll be on the southeastern side of the river mouth, and is the complex right in the middle of the city surrounded by a moat.
Infiltration
To infiltrate the castle, head for the southeastern end of the moat and look for a rope crossing over it, which Naoe can run across to get to the outer wall.
Samurai Daisho 1
The first Samurai Daisho is guarding the construction area in the southeastern area of Osaka Castle. He stands in one spot and has few patrols, making him a very easy target to ambush if you want to.
Samurai Daisho 2
The second Samurai Daisho patrols the southwestern area of the castle grounds. This will be around the outer wall where there’s few enemies, making this a great spot to ambush and defeat him alone. There’s even a haystack at the southern-most point of his patrol route!
Samurai Daisho 3
The third Samurai Daisho is found patrolling around the main keep, on the western, northern and eastern sides. If you have the Viewpoint on Osaka Castle already, one of his stopping points is right next to a pile of hay you can leap of faith down to! You can Assassinate him from there and only have one nearby guard to worry about.
Kano Painting
The Osaka Castle Kano Painting is in the southern area of the castle. Here will be a building that’s still under construction and mostly exposed wood, with a small building directly north of it. The Kano Painting is inside.
Peasant Clothes
The Legendary Chest is found in the main keep of Osaka Castle, in the upper-most floor (and the most lavishly-decorated, even from the outside). You can either climb up as Naoe, or fight your way through as Yasuke.
The Light Armor inside is Legendary Peasant Clothes for Naoe. Its perk is for attacks to have a 3% chance to remove 1 Health Segment on hit, making it a good pairing with a Tanto’s rapid attack rate.
