The event previously known as Formnext Forum Tokyo has changed its name to Formnext Asia Tokyo Forum. Focusing on additive manufacturing technology and related products and services, the event will be held from 25 – 26 September 2025 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Industrial Trade Center HAMAMATSUCHO-KAN. The previous edition attracted 56 exhibitors from China, France, Japan, and Korea, who welcomed 1,109 professional visitors from industries benefitting from using AM. Later this year, 1,500 visitors are expected over the two-day event, and exhibitors are invited to book their booths for the targeted industry showcase.
The event was first held in 2019 as a sister event of Formnext, the international trade fair specializing in industrial AM technology, which is organized annually in Frankfurt, Germany. For the upcoming, rebranded edition of Formnext Asia Tokyo Forum, several features will add to the event’s relevance to the sector.
In addition to exhibition space, several insightful seminars will take place, such as the organizers’ special seminar featuring industry leaders, as well as exhibitor presentations providing the latest AM information. An exhibition area called ‘Academic’ will also be set up – dedicated to professors and university students introducing research results relating to new AM technologies and new materials. Within the area, academics can speak directly to user companies about their ongoing research.
“The aim of our participation is to raise the profile of post-processing machines and to meet the demand for an industrial process. We met high-profile visitors who have clear goals and are aware of the problems they face in surface treatment. We hope to continue exhibiting, not only in post-treatment but also in AM-related fields, next year and in subsequent years,” said Ms. Yui Izawa from YOKOITO INC.
“On the first day, we were able to talk to visitors from the aerospace and automotive industries, which we had targeted; as a result, we exchanged business cards with over 80 companies in one day. We would like to continue exhibiting at this event as its visitors are in line with the customers with which we are looking to connect,” said Mr. Masaki Nakajima from Asahi Kasei Corporation.
“Every time we come to this exhibition, we can interact with the latest products and technologies, and we are likely to find information that will solve our company’s problems,” said Mr. Natsumi Hosobuchi from Castec Inc.
The 2025 Forum will see experts converge from a wide range of industry sectors, including solutions for additive manufacturing; materials; manufacturing preparation/pre-processing; component processing/surface processing solutions/post-processing; contract manufacturing/design/product development; tool and die-making; software; quality management/measurement; certification and standards; research and development (R&D); and organizations and publishing companies.
Formnext Asia Tokyo Forum is organized by Messe Frankfurt Japan Ltd and forms part of a series of international events including Formnext Asia Shenzhen (26 – 28 August 2025, Shenzhen, China); Formnext (18 – 21 November 2025, Frankfurt, Germany); and Asiamold (4 – 6 March 2026, Guangzhou, China).
