It's interesting that the three albums are top tier and the perfect sample of Japanese content for Western media, after all many of the lyrics have deeply dark meanings, but they are very well hidden by their contagious rhythm, for example "Yoru Ni Kakeru" which became an absolute hit with its deeply melancholic lyrics, but with a rhythm that doesn't let anyone stand still. Ikura's voice is very good and you can feel her emotion when she sings. The idea of novel into music is also brilliant. my top 5 of all albums goes to: (in no particular order, except for the first)
5- Tabun: The song talks about the end of a relationship, but in an ambiguous way, without clearly explaining the reasons or feelings. The lyrics suggest uncertainty and resignation, reflecting the idea that there is not always a concrete reason for the end of a love affair.
4- Haruka: The song depicts the relationship between a human being and his beloved pet dog, but the lyrics are written in such a way that they sound like a farewell between two people. The hidden meaning is revealed when we realize that the story is told from the dog's point of view, as he watches his owner grow old.
3- Kaibutsu: Made for the anime BEASTARS (never watched), the song is from the point of view of a wolf trying to control his carnivorous instincts while living among herbivores. The hidden meaning lies in the metaphor of the “monster within,” symbolizing the conflict between identity, society, and the desire for accessibility.
2- Yasashii Suisei: It focuses on the relationship between two characters (Ibuki and Louis), with melancholic lyrics that speak of a strong bond, but destined for a tragic end. The “gentle comet” represents an inevitable farewell, but full of affection.
1-Yoru Ni Kakeru: I think I can refrain from talking about this one, after all everyone knows what it is about lol
I still intend to delve deeper into the lyrics, but that's it for now. Please recommend me similar songs or albums.
