⁴ᴷ Fukuoka: Nishitetsu Yanagawa Station (福岡県: 柳川駅) – Japan Walking Tour (February, 2025)
Since it’s getting cold and I’m determined to cover filming locations in every prefecture, I’m heading to Kyushu—the only region remaining. I took a ferry from Yokosuka Port and arrived at Shin-Koji Port in Kitakyushu, then toured Kyushu in a clockwise direction.
After traveling through various prefectures in Kyushu, I’ve made my way back to Fukuoka Prefecture. From Saga City, I moved to Yanagawa City, which is located nearby.
Yanagawa was once a castle town of the Yanagawa Domain, but the area around the station doesn’t really have the atmosphere of an old historic town. The shopping street in front of the station has a few scattered bars, but not much else. Currently, the area is undergoing redevelopment, with plans to extend the canal system all the way to the station front.
