Too bad so many Japanese hotels got bumped up in category. Hopefully the PH Tokyo refresh is worth the upgrade in category.
Brilliant as always, thank you 🍻
Just booked three Hyatt hotels in Japan for October , and this is one of them! Our first time in Japan! (Kyoto Tokyo, Osaka)
Hermes in HP🤣
2:32 had a similar experience in Korea, i stayed at my friend's parents place and they had an old home where all these new builds have completely built around them, pretty crazy to see
Also went from HP -> PH -> HP -> W osaka -> Caption.
Most recently went from Andaz tokyo to comfort hotel, my taxi driver couldn't hold his laugh
We went the other direction, HP to PH. Did you try their custom designed popsicle flavors? They looked interesting. If you need the laundry room, be ready to pounce or wait. Don’t forget the free skin care packets!
Loving these Japan videos. I can't wait to go in 2026. Taking notes.
Was there a lot of people doing laundry when you went? I am going in a few weeks for Cherry Blossom season and expect it to be quite busy. Coincidentally, I am also going from the PH –> HP too.
Stayed at the budget Caption Hyatt in Osaka and having a washer and dryer to use came in clutch.
Hopefully sometime soon in Canada we will be able to collect Hyatt points through credit cards
I stayed at this place too! The only bad part was the lack of washing machines and dryers during my stay. When I was there, so many people were waiting for it and checking the status on the site also wasn't too accurate. Some of the other guests said they waited a few days to do their laundry since every time they went it was in use already.
You forgot to mention that this method only works if you only have less than 3 people since most Hyatt hotel rooms in Asia and Europe aren’t redeemable by points if there’s 3 guests in one room
Their Hyatt place looks much better than here in the U.S
We booked a stay here next month when we visit for 5 days in the Kansai region. It looked centrally located and a good home base for Kyoto and day trips outside Kyoto (Osaka, Nara). Point redemption was clutch transferring Chase points, especially because we needed to book 2 rooms for our family of 4. Prices during the Sakura season are much higher than off-season prices, making the point redemption a sweet value.
Have been to the Hyatt place Kyoto and it was great!
I stayed there (HP Kyoto) with my parents, we also stayed at the PH Niseko, W Osaka, GH Fukuoka, and Ritz-Carlton Kyoto.
My parents actually liked the HP better than the Ritz, for various reasons.
That hyatt place Kyoto is a very nice property. Pretty good breakfast. Right on top of the train.
Tough to beat.
Thank you very much. I envy your wife.
