TOGAKUSHI in Winter: A Hike to Nagano’s Hidden Shrine
I apologize for the video quality. The continuous snowfall repeatedly obscured the camera lens, resulting in a consistently blurry recording.
Hiking to Togakushi Shrine in Nagano during winter is a peaceful and magical experience. The trail is covered in fresh snow, and the air is crisp and quiet. As you walk, towering cedar trees line the path, their branches heavy with snow, creating a stunning, almost otherworldly scene.
The highlight of the journey is the cedar-lined avenue leading to Okusha (the Upper Shrine). In winter, it feels even more mystical, with the deep snow making the path both beautiful and challenging.
After the hike, nothing is better than warming up with a bowl of Togakushi soba, a local specialty. The whole experience is a mix of nature, tradition, and tranquility—a perfect winter adventure in Japan.
