Himeji – Easy Day Trip to the White Heron Castle – Japan Vlog 2024 🏯🎌

We take the shinkansen from Hiroshima to Himeji for a day trip exploring Himeji Castle. A UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest feudal castles in Japan. Known as the White Heron Castle due to it’s striking white colour, we show you how to get from the train station to the castle. It began construction in the 14th Century and was completed in 1609 and is an essential day trip if you’re visiting the Honshu region.

We explore the castle grounds, the Main Keep and views from the Castle Tower. As well as checking out a famous Japanese ghost story.

This could be a great day trip from Hiroshima, Osaka and Kyoto as it’s only about an hour on the shinkansen. Next video we’ll be on our way to Osaka 🙂
