World Traveler
My great love for traveling made me become a flight attendant at 17 years young. That was a short experience. Then I migrated to the United States of America which offered me a second chance to work in the airline industry and the opportunity to pursue my tremendous desire to travel around the world. Today, I thank God on a daily basis for making me become a customer service representative for the best airline in the world – United Airlines. Most of all due to the wonderful flight benefits the company gives its employees. As an employee, me and my family are very blessed to be able to travel anywhere around the world where United flies, absolutely for free. As if that is not amazing enough blessing, most of the time when the flight is wide open (plenty of available seats), we fly Polaris (business or first class).
During my first few years with United Airlines, I used my flight benefits only when I go home to the Philippines, where I’m originally from. Due to this, for quite a while, my co-workers continued to question me with sarcasm…”Elmer what is wrong with you? Why are you only using your flight benefits only when you go home to the Philippines? We have hundreds of flights to numerous other countries and cities around the world you can also go to. Go visit Europe! Go travel around the world!”
These questions went on for years and have become ridiculous. So I just got sick and tired of hearing them, that just a few years ago, I finally answered them back…”You know what, I am going to start doing just that from now on!”
Fast forward several years later today, I have been very blessed to be able to go on numerous awesome travel adventures in Europe (and around the world).
Not bad for somebody who just several years ago never set foot in Europe.
And oh, by the way, those co-workers? Every time they see me, they now call me “World traveler,” “Mr. International” and “Globe jet-setter”
God I can’t thank You enough for this wonderful blessing. Truly, due to all these travels, the last several years have been some of the very best, most exciting and happiest moments of my life. I am very blessed. I am very grateful.
Thank you very much United Airlines, for enabling me to visit these beautiful places for free and on business class. Now, I tell myself I should have done this much earlier. Well, it’s better late than never.
Prayer answered. Dream came true. Wish granted. Bucket list checked.
Work hard. Pursue your dreams. Most of all, put your faith, hope and trust in God. Give Him greater glory, honor and thanks on everything that you do. In His perfect time and way, your dreams will come true as well. Nothing is impossible with the Lord. Nothing is too difficult for Him to do.
Pray, Work, Save, Travel, Vacation…Repeat.
God willing, my best days are still ahead of me. Great things are coming my way. More amazing travel adventures to look forward to as many more captivating countries await my visit.
