This was actually in November. I think they serve heart-shaped eggs 365-days of the year! The Ryokan is along the Nakasendo ‘Samurai’ Trail, an ancient route from Kyoto to Edo/Tokyo. Also included are a couple of photos along our hike and a bowl of red bean soup with mochi and ice cream we had in one of the villages. It was a much-loved adventure in beautiful, whimsical Japan.
