Hisaya Odori Park was laid out after the destruction of World War II by the mayor of Nagoya, with the aim of creating a green space in the middle of the city. It acts as a central park within the city center area and over the years has been spread out with many trees, water fountains and modern works of art such as sculptures and other installations.
