Hello everyone! Long time lurker, first time poster here.
I was in Japan for around 2 months back in June-July last year. I had the pleasure of doing an internship at Nagoya U, and every weekend me and my girlfriend went out into the surrounding countryside or towns. So I’ll be posting some of my pictures from then soon.
But here is a photo I took with the very good friends I made at Nagoya University. I am an amateur astrophotographer, and so was one of my colleagues. We drove down to the ocean in Chiba and set up our cameras in front of this Torii, known as Tsubute-Ura Torii.
This was my first time doing an astro landscape, and I am quite pleased with it. Even with large amount of light pollution around Nagoya, the Milky Way’s core was visible even to the naked eye. It was truly a magical experience.
