Love Letter to Japan, Akiya Hunting, and Photography in Hokkaido

This video is a love letter to Japan, a country I moved to nearly 30 years ago. In October 2024 I made it back to Japan and searched for an Akiya or abandoned house to buy and renovate. Along the way, I stopped in Akan – Mashu National Park and photographed Hokkaido’s beautiful nature.

  1. I sold my beloved FJ for an Akiya in Japan. While I haven't found the right house, yet, I am still looking. Where should I move to? Hokkaido or somewhere else? Have you ever looked for an Akiya? If so where did you look? Did you buy?
I love photographing in Japan. Where is your favorite place to photograph?
    Happy travels!
    Aloha,
    Lee
