HIMEJI VLOG | Day trip from Osaka | JAPAN VLOG 2

The shrine on the top floor of the Himeji Castle existed on the hill even before the castle was built. It was moved from there after the construction and was brought back and placed inside the castle following some unfortunate occurrences.
Another interesting legend associated with the shrine says that a ghost who hated humans resided on the top floor of the castle and killed a former lord of the castle. So, when the famous artist and swordsman #musashimiyamoto stopped by Himeji, he was asked to vanquish the ghost by the then current lord.
Apparently, one night Musashi was on his way up the keep with a candle in one hand when he was attacked by huge flames and inexplicable roaring noises and shaking. Following this, the skilled swordsman threatened to exterminate the ghost, with one hand touching his sword and things quickly calmed down.
