Hello!

I have recently started to go through the discography of EXILE & EXILE TRIBE and one thing confuses me…

Why do they have “type-EX”, “type-OX” or “type-S” in the names of their songs?

For example “type-Jr.EX” is obvious, because it is simply a remake done by Jr.EXILE.
But the rest confuses me…

Thank you for helping!!

Choo Choo TRAIN was first released by ZOO. One of their former members, HIRO, then formed J Soul Brothers (now renamed as EXILE) and re-released the song.

TYPE-EX and TYPE-OX have different arrangements (by Iwato Takeshi and Kawano Kei respectively). Both are released in 2003.

They released another one in 2007 as a re-recorded version of the song, replacing SHUN’s vocals with TAKAHIRO’s vocals.

There’s also an EXILE TRIBE version, featuring vocals by TAKAHIRO, NESMITH, SHOKICHI, Imaichi Ryuji, Tosaka Hiroomi, Katayose Ryota and Kazuhara Ryuto.
