We began our morning at Seisuji Temple, where the highlight was the enchanting staircase framed by a natural foliage roof. Walking up the steps felt like ascending into a hidden world, the dappled sunlight filtering through the leaves creating a serene and magical atmosphere. By midday, we arrived in Obuse, a charming town famed for its connection to Hokusai and its delicious chestnuts. After exploring galleries dedicated to the legendary artist, we enjoyed a lunch featuring local chestnut specialties. Wandering the cobblestone streets and historic houses, we soaked in the town’s rich blend of tradition and creativity—a perfect complement to our morning’s tranquility.
