LIVING in FUKUOKA | No.19 | Specialty coffee shops & Lunch spots I visited in a week

🎥 select HD for video resolution setting.
I live in Fukuoka.
And this is a vlog of my ordinary days.
In between work meetings, I visited some specialty coffee shops and good lunch spots in Tenjin, Ropponmats, Yakuin and Hakata.
Two new places, “Genmairoho” and “Basking Coffee” which opened in 2023 and 2024, were both nice, worth-visiting places. All there areas have many nice cafes, bakeries, lunch spots that it is recommended to make 3~4 stops as much as the time allows.

Christmas is just around the corner.
I wish you all Merry Christmas!
May your Christmas be filled with joy and happiness.

Thank you for watching.
Please check information about shops & places here below.

▶Amam Dacotan
The most-visited bakeries in Fukuoka from all over the world.
It is usually an average of 30 minutes to one hour waiting line on weekends and if you are luckyyou can go inside within 10 minutes during the weekdays. Miraculous coincidence happened this day that I was the only customer inside for about 10 minutes.
If you are lucky and can buy some bread here, you can bring it to 2 stores away to the left and can eat inside by ordering a drink.

open:8:00~17:00

Bibimpap set I ate was so good.
I liked it better than the one I ate in the 5 star hotel in Korea. (my preference
) All the staff here were very welcoming and that made my visit more special. You can also stop by for Onigiris to go.

A household goods & kitchenware shop loved by locals in Fukuoka. Go here and you’ll find everything you need. Cafe on 2F.
I sometimes come here for their panini lunch. Panini, green salad with homemade dressing, homemade pickles, they are all in harmony and very good. They have good desserts too.

  1. Excellent! Very nice again, 2nd Passport. Of the clips I save for Watch Later I always watch your´s first. Yeah, amazing electricity wiring in Japan. It was of the first things that struck me when I came to Japan +20 years ago. Chaotic, but it works. Very nice bakeries and coffee shops, most of them new to me. I learned how to be picky in bakeries and not to let them slice the bread and pack it in plastic bags. But in many places they will do this without asking if you do not stop them. I wanted my bread crispy and I wanted to cut it myself at home. The bibimbap at Genmairouho looks absolutely delicious. There are many Korean restos in Fukuoka who serve great food at reasonable prices. I could most of the times not resist a glass of makgeolli even at lunch time, but ofc not if I was going to drive a car or a motorcycle, bicycle was another matter 🙂 Potter´s panini lunch is great. I like Yakuin a lot as a quarter. This despite old talk and rumours about it being cheap and yakuza etc. It is a great place and good shopping like in the Yanagabashi market. I have recommended your clips to a few newcomers in Fukuoka. I hope they find them. You find places and quarters which are not in the usual Fukuoka YouTube clips, usually it is just Tenjin, Hakata St, Ohori Park and Daizafu. So much more to explore. I fell in love with the small quarter of Nishinakasu, close to where we lived in Nakasu. Small alleys, small restos, almost like a labyrinth, but check prices and the menu before entering and ordering, some of them can be pricey. Ok, arigato and Merry (Mary) Christmas and a happy New Year. Cheers and kanpai from here and me in Romania.
