Do NOT visit Kyoto, Japan as a day trip! #travel #japantravel #kyoto #traveltips #travelplanning

We were SO surprised to hear how many people choose to day trip to Kyoto…

we think this is a terrible idea because there is SO much to see and do in Kyoto!

Let alone, the amount of day trips you can do FROM Kyoto.

⏰ So, how long should you stay? We think you should stay a minimum of 3 days. Though, 4-5 days would be best. We also think Kyoto is somewhere you can draw out and stay much longer.

✨Our top things to do:
Neighbourhoods/Areas to visit:
•Gion District (Shirakawa Canal)
•Kiyomizu
•Philosopher’s Path
•Pontocho
•Nishiki Market/Central Kyoto
•Kano River (wander along it)

Temples & Shrines:
•Fushimi Inari Taisha
•Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion)
•Kiyomizu-dera
•Kodaiji Temple
•Ryōan-ji
•Nanzen-ji
•Daigo-ji
•Tōji Temple

💛 What day trips to do?
1. Arashiyama – Known for its bamboo grove but it’s much more than that
2. Uji – The birthplace of Japanese matcha a
3. Nara – home to 1200 free roaming deer

Have we convinced you to extend your time in Kyoto yet?
