Japan has always been at the top of my bucket list, and using the JAPAN RAIL PASS I finally had the chance to explore some of its most iconic landmarks, like the Fushimi Inari Shrine and Nagoya Castle, on a cycling trip. Seeing these famous sites in person was an incredible experience, but it was the journey south to discover the more intimate, traditional areas that really deepened my appreciation for the country’s rich culture and heritage.

I was very fascinated by the societal values, the people and how they operate. I grew up in a much more chill and ‘anything goes’ environment, so seeing how specific and detail oriented people are in their approach to life was super eye opening.

Each day brought something new – one day we were going on serene walks through nature in Kagoshima and the next to fast-paced urban adventures in Osaka. It was definitely a packed experience!

I’m so happy I was able to bring you along with us, I hope you enjoyed the journey – and who knows…maybe it’ll inspire you to start planning your own trip to Japan!!
