Hi Wander / Micka,
First of all, thank you for your videos ! I stumbled upon your channel about a week ago, completely by luck while searching for new videos about Ishigaki since my last search this summer. What an unexpected surprise to discover a brand-new channel run by a French speaker who has been living in Japan for several decades, especially on Ishigaki !
I have a somewhat unusual request. My father and I will be in Ishigaki from March 14th to 18th, 2025, as the first stop of our very first trip to Japan. I was wondering if, by any chance, you might be interested in being our guide while we’re there? (Of course, we would compensate you.)
Although we usually like to explore on our own, it would be such a pleasure to have you as a guide. My father, who is quite elderly, doesn’t speak English and, naturally, even less Japanese. I’m used to handling English translations for him, but for this trip, it feels like a double challenge (even though I’m learning Japanese on the side to get a basic level for our journey).
Discovering Ishigaki and its surrounding islands through a French speaker who resides there and knows Japanese culture would be a real pleasure !
I don’t usually do this kind of thing, so I apologize if this comes across as intrusive, i would completely understand if you refuse and I wouldn’t take it personally.
But this is such a unique and specific opportunity that I thought I’d give it a try because it’s unlikely it will ever come again.
J’ai fait le commentaire en anglais car ta chaîne est anglophone, donc autant éviter de polluer l’algorithme, mais je te confirme bien que je suis natif francophone (de France).
D’avance merci pour ton temps et ta réponse,
Tifox / Joris
