I LOVE your phone case. Do you know where i could get one similar?
18:48 S’pore Airlines calls that “booking the cook.”
Another insightful video, thank you
I flew them CRK-TPE. I enjoyed my flight.
Air France has those dimmable windows on their A350 aircraft. They're far better than the Boeing ones.
How many airlines can an island nation of approximately 24m support?
Im sold lol branded toilet paper is next level😂
Wouldn't it be nice if china airlines were rebranded as 'China Taipei Airlines' ? That name seems more fitting for an airline based in Taiwan.
Since Starlux Inauguration flight LAX-TPE-LAX back in April 2023
had experienced their transpacific Business Class LAX-TPE-LAX 6 time
TPE-MFM-TPE Business Class 8 times
TPE-NRT-TPE 1st Class One
TPE-CTS-TPE Business Class one
and Recently HKG-TPE Business Class.
with exception TPE-NRT-TPE 1st Class, due to too short of flight time not worth the prices.
nevertheless, all and all
In my humble opinion Starlux definitely THE BEST TRANSPACIFIC BUSINESS CLASS at current.
I agree that dimmable windows get annoyingly warm but I love that I can still look outside on a sunny day and appreciate the view without being blinded.
hey simply aviation can u make a flight from Honolulu to Fuzhou.
This is a very comprehensive review. I've flown on EVA multiple times for long haul flights from west coast USA to Taipei, but now I think I should give Starlux a try.
id probably pick this over the mainland phobic cathaway seeing as hey both are about the same price
My Comment!
Try Air Macau
Opened in 1979, Taipei Taoyuan International Airport certainly is dated. Luckily, they are building Terminal 3 to accommodate future growth. However, Terminal 1 and 2 both need to be upgraded to compete with other regional world-class airports. With the frugal nature of the Taiwanese, I don't hold out too much hope for a leading airport.
The toilet paper…. I LOVED IT!!!
From the video you can understand why Starlux is profitable: it charges more than others, but offers new, impeccable planes, good entertainment and free meals! Your explanation about "enjoying the flight" was perfect!
Can you do air China 747-8
Starlux has announced that it plans to apply for oneworld membership by the end of 2025. Really interesting to see if it ends up happening since Oneworld currently has a suprisingly tiny presence in Taiwan.
It's also interesting to see whether Starlux will then start working closely together with Cathay Pacific, since they largely serve the same area.
service was GREAT from SEA to TPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! then TPE to SEA was average…………………..
IMO it’s not fair to compare with €100 peach flight. You should compare prices to a peach flight with check in luggage and a meal at the very least.
I'll tell you what's impressive. Those matching carpets and seats right out of the 1970's. Orange baby!
Silly American question here. Your passport says Osterreich, if I keep saying that I can hear Austria. So is the translation of the name of Austria – The Eastern Empire?
Amazing video as always, and that looked like an amazing flight! I know that you have a CX A321neo review coming soon, but one thing I would like to recommend is a CX A350-1000 economy class review. The seat comfort is probably the best of any economy seat out there, the entertainment system is also one of the best, if not the best, and the food is also pretty good. Ideally, a long-haul flight would be the best way to judge this product, but I think you should just try it to see how much CX has recovered, and then gone beyond what it was pre-covid.
21:30 “Time isn’t just measured, it’s felt”. Couldn’t agree more. Great review! ✌️
🥰🥰
"For humans time is not just spent, it is felt." Really appreciate the way your review becomes objective, insightful and rhetorical all at once.
Some "other" comments for JX here: With little doubt Starlux is one of the best in Asia and beyond, which fact doesn't mean they are flawless. Earlier this year I had the opportunity to fly on their inaugural service to Seattle, and the experience was…mixed, to say the least. The hardware and the meal was as fantastic as in this review, but I found two weird aspects of their economy service (also valid for a previous trip with them to LAX): 1) on the long-hauls they only serve the standard two meals, with little to nothing in between; and I believe it shouldn't be asking too much for a top carrier to provide some snacks or at least beverages between those. And 2) In a fully booked economy situation, It seem to take JX a long while to serve everyone food. It became especially chaotic and confusing when about 50% of the cabin have their meal pre-ordered, the cabin crew walking back and forth holding individual trays trying to have those served first, and with the trolley also already on the aisle. All customers got served in a slightly random order in this case. For me on the SEA inaugural flight, I waited two full hours after the dinner service started to receive my pre-ordered meal. It was still very good, but I certainly learnt the lesson that even the best carriers cannot always prevent some kind of dramatic scenarios from happening 🙂
I didn’t even notice the video was “brutally long,” your excellent editing made the Starlux experience go by even faster.
Phenomenal trip report David!😸
David the accent KING!
Take the video about British Airways in China!!!
Comparable to Etihad for sure.
I recently had to fly from Seoul to Taipei and thought it would be a great opportunity to try them. I was surprised to learn Starlux doesn't fly between 2 cities. Bummer.
Just saying the STARLUX star from 6:44 is the same you would find on EVA Air Logo
After all, Starlux boss (0:20 The man in orange work suit, former EVA Air boss)still the member of EVERGREEN family and 3rd shareholder of the EVA Air (4.92%)
I have flown many starlux flights from sin to tpe on both their a330 neo and their a350 models on all their class economy premium economy and business class but no more becos I lose out the points and mileage as they are not a star alliance member and it seems they may be likely going to one world by next year so there you go …great airline but I get nothing from them so it's EVA for me for long haul esp in business class …and SQ for regional flights both business class and economy ❤
I find their screen too reflective indeed…and their service …too rigid albeit good…
Yes faster and darker than the 787 which ain't my fav maybe except the 787-10…
One good thing is for economy class on Starlux ..one can pre book meals! For SQ only available for premium pax thru book the cook!
What phone case is that 😅
認真沒想過真的能看到一直敲碗的星宇😮😭🥹
LMAO. I wouldn't classify China Airlines as a "World Class" airline. YMMV.
18:35. Wow, that meal looks delicious and i can tell you have really travelled, as i listened to you name every item on that plate correctly. 😄
Taiwanese and Japanese airlines are the best in the world
I like the livery of Starlux.
