Gyutan (Beef Tongue) | Sendai’s Food Specialty
If you are in Sendai, don’t miss out on some local food specialties such as gyutan (beef tongue)! Gyutan is often grilled, which gives it a nice char taste. It is very lightly salty and surprisingly not extremely chewy. The umami flavour is present. Gyutan is also served with rice, oxtail soup and a side dish of vegetables.
In this video, we were at Sendai station but you can find other good restaurants that serve gyutan in the city.
