I visited the birthplace of matcha!
If you’re visiting Kyoto, you need to go to Uji which is just a 30 minutes train ride away! And if you’re a matcha lover, Nakamura Tokichi Honten is the place to go to for their Maruto Parfait which is limited only at their main store. The parfait had so many layers and different textures that no one bite was the same. Make sure to drop by their souvenir shop on the way out and get yourself a matcha powder (currently my favourite).
