Diamond Princess – Day 5 – Sakaiminato, Japan – Part 1 – Yuushien Garden & the Eshima Ohashi Bridge
Day 5 of my cruise on the Diamond Princess cruise ship brings us to the historical city of Sakaiminato, Japan! I wasn’t really sure what to do, so I jumped on to one of the free tour shuttle busses that took me to the Yuushien botanical gardens known for their very well kept and elaborate gardens, famous peony flower displays, and ginseng museum. To get to Yuushien, we have to travel over the Eshima Ohashi bridge, which is the third largest ridged structure bridge in the world and might look familiar to you as it is known for being extremely steep.
For part 2 of the vlog, I head to downtown Sakaiminato, to visit the Mizuki Shigeru cartoon museum and see all the various cartoon structures on the streets honoring his work. I wrap up the day by getting a beer and some sushi at a small restaurant off the main drag. Enjoy!
