Did you know Japan has a star shaped fortress?!?!
It is called the Goryokaku and is located in Hakodate, Hokkaido on Japan’s most north island. These are the insane views you can see from the observation deck there. I went during a time where it seemed most dead, only with a little illumination at night. But if you go during some special events you can even see fireworks! During winter, it also looks cool when it is filled with snow. Unfortunately it wasn’t snowing when I went though 🙁
