Exploring Toyama on my own (Adventures 😀 and Misadventures! 🫢)- Japan Trip – Day 14 (Part 2)

I was lucky enough to visit Japan this year, after talking about going with my best friend, on and off, for the past 5 years! This trip, following a terrible 2023, was absolutely magical!

On day 14, after Katy headed on her way to Shima, I headed out from the hotel once more for a solo stroll through the streets of Toyama with the idea of doing some thrifting. Side tracked by the many wonderful things I came across, I missed the first store and continued on to one that was a bit further from the city centre on a local bus.

I made it there and got to experience a local, more suburban style, thrift store and dinner at a take away restaurant across the road, before attempting to return to my hotel for the night. Only the bus never came and I was left standing on the side of the road in the cold for half an hour till the next one arrived!

In the meantime I made friends with a local, who helped guide me with the bus fare and talked with me all the way back to the train station/my hotel. I finished up the day very tired, but very much at peace and in love with what the world can bring!

Just for fun, I’ve decided to pop my step count stats for each day at the end of each vlog’s description.

  1. Thank you for the adventure. The last time that I was in Japan was in 2008. Can't wait for your next video.

  2. Good video. looked like fun. I would have liked the Thrift Shop. Those animal sculptures were very nice too.
