Singapore to Sapporo WITHOUT Flying: Day 105
I would dolphinately recommend this one for you guys! 🐬
Tash and I have come to Kratie for one thing and one thing only. To see the endangered Irrawaddy dolphins. This is one of the few places to see them and why wouldn’t we want to see a river dolphin?
To see them, you can either take a tourist boat or you can kayak. We felt that kayaking would be a less intrusive and more memorable experience so we went for that. After getting driven up the river about half an hour we got onto a kayak and followed our guide Ben into the Mekong.
After a hard paddle we reached the centre of the river and the dolphins started showing themselves. Not only we’re that though, they were mating which meant that they were more active as usual! We watched them jumping around for an hour or so and honestly it was incredible to witness. An unbelievable activity. Loved it.
If you want to do this yourself, we booked through Sorya Kayaking Adventures. A little bit pricey if you have a smaller group, but absolutely worth it!
