Surprised! Slow Travel in Osaka – Our First Impressions – Full Time Travel on a Budget in 2024

We’re excited to be back in Japan. Its not typically chosen as a full time slow travel destination. However, we’re going to make it work. We believe!
Japan has a reputation for being expensive. However, everything is relative and we’re going to show you how even Japan can be budget friendly.

In this video, we share our first impressions of Yao, a lesser-known part of Osaka, after one week of slow traveling here. We dive into the prices of local restaurants and coffee shops, highlight the welcoming nature of the people, and give a feel for the overall vibe of the town. As budget travelers, we compare the costs to what we’ve seen in other places and talk about what makes Yao stand out in terms of both affordability and charm.

  1. Planning on slow travel Asia 2026. Will attempt to stay below my 3 k / mo budget in Thailand, Cambodia,Vietnam, Laos, hopefully will not use 3k on these places then bank the savings to put toward Japan! Great videos guys! Love your tips

  2. What a great video thank you so much. I’m going to put this destination on my list for sure. I can’t wait to see your video at the end of the month to see how much you were able to do it for. Also, is your Airbnb very expensive or will that information come at the end of the month? I hope you guys have a blast and I love watching you both!

  3. You folks are living my dream. We have started to document our own journey. It’s amazing to see you both doing it, now! Congratulations 💗🙏🏽🇵🇷

  4. Just wondering why you didn’t stay on to explore Europe after Albania ? Instead of flying back and forth between Europe and Asia, which will be more expensive?

Anyway, it’s great that you are exploring the Osaka area ! I do have similar intentions 🙂
