【Driving in Japan】National Route 139 : Fuji – Asagiri Plateau, Shizuoka [Insta 360 Ace Pro 4K60P]

National Route 139 is a general national highway that runs from Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, through Yamanashi Prefecture to Okutama Town, Tokyo.

This route runs in a semi-circle around the western foot of Mt. Fuji. Along the way, you can see the Asagiri Plateau at the foot of the western foot of Mt. Fuji, the scenic Fuji Five Lakes including Lake Kawaguchi, and the Aokigahara Jukai forest formed by volcanic activity of Mt. Fuji, making it a great way to enjoy the charms of Mt. Fuji.

This time, I drove the entire route. Since it took a long time to shoot, I will release it in four parts.

The first release is the section from the starting point of Fuji City to the Asagiri Plateau. This section includes two exclusive motorways, the “Nishi Fuji Road” and the “Fujinomiya Road,” and is a very busy section. These exclusive motorways were once used as toll roads, but by 2012 they were all free. The old roads up until that point have been demoted to prefectural roads.
