  1. I love your videos! You do such a great job at it! I am very interested in going on a cruise to Norway and would love if you could address this destination and the cruise lines that visit this area. Which have the best itineraries, ports, all of it! Thank you and have a wonderful time on Azamara! I will be boarding the Discovery on Saturday and am so excited!

  2. Very interesting. I think using personal water bottles and using the ship ice and water is cost effective. The ship creates safe drinking water from salt water. No need for plastic bottles or added cost.

I love disconnecting on a cruise, drinking a lot of water and enjoying all that is not included in any package. I call this “my package”. I really like the morning room service so hopefully that will not go away❤🎉

  3. We are now platinum so I'm not sure we will take the drink packages as half price on the Wi-Fi is a big deal for us. BTW, are you allowed to bring on plastic bottles like water. I thought only aluminum cans are acceptable.

  4. Has the Medallion program been discontinued? Your mentioning using the app makes me wonder what happened. I, too, get the bottled water delivered to my stateroom before boarding. (I don't like bathroom water, I like kitchen water, says the 6-year old in me). Also, I don't drink alcohol, and I'd like to have my fridge filled with soft drinks instead of alcohol to have on arrival. How do I do that? Seems like a simple swap and I'll pay any difference, of course. But the last time I tried to make that happen, a real circus happened. I really like your videos. Kudos to you, always.

  5. Wahoo, happy to hear more sailings out of San Francisco!!! (I live in Northern California.) Thanks, I always enjoy your point of view!!

  6. Princess is just adjusting the price of the water because the other cruise lines are in that ballpark. You are correct. This is pushing customers to book packages.

  7. Princess’ packages are the very best packages of all the cruise lines. My least favorite is NCL’s where they say it is FREE and then they charge you SO much in gratuities.

  8. Does not make me go plus and I always got the bottled water, some times 3 of the 12 packs. For those that drink alcohol does make plus more competitive but not for me, now will go with refillable bottles and fill up in buffet. Crazy price increase. Still will stick with Princess.

  9. I feel best with plus . Myself I like not worrying about doing extra paying and know that everything I need is in the plus. I love water lol

  10. A $24 case of water still does not in any way compare to $840 (two people for 7 days) for the Plus package. So no, that increase will still not pressure me into buying their Plus package. I agree, that as far as an alcohol package, Princess is the cheapest. But since we don't drink alcohol and don't care much for any other drinks they serve then the $840 is still way more than we would spend on tips and wifi (if we even want that). Also I bet the water in the water stations on board has less contaminants than bottled water.

  11. Yes the packages are a good deal if you use all the perks. It is interesting how some people are happy to pay for the packages even when they know they won't use enough of the perks to break even. They are willing to pay more now so they don't have to worry about paying later. I on the other hand, enjoy saving money. Because I know I would only benefit from the $17 per day gratuities and occasionally internet, I would be mad at myself if I paid so much more just to have the package.

  12. You should not be purchasing single use plastic bottles. It it is more environmentally friendly to take a reusable water bottle and re fill it. Plastic is not good for the planet.

  13. Hi Alison… do you know when they are going to start charging for using the morning breakfast cards or for pizza in ‘Slice’? I don’t think it will be very long before standard passage a thing of the past … blessings, John

  14. I booked the plus package AND ordered two 12 packs of water for my next cruise. I ordered the water for my convenience. I will no longer order the water delivered to my room. Nuts to ya' Princess.

  15. The price increase wouldn't stop us from geting the 12 pack if we feel we need it. Often times Connie will buy one bottle of water and just refill the bottle from the tap in the room. But we have pre-ordered the 12 pack in the past on longer cruises. It wouldn't have any impact on our decision to order/not order the Plus package. So far we haven't ordered either the Plus or Premier package on any Princess cruise.

  16. We love longer cruises! What I would like to see is a Japan itinerary that sailed one way circles Japan and you fly back.
We would love to book a group cruise with you on Holland to 🇯🇵 Japan or something exotic.

  17. Since my husband and I don't drink and we never go online when cruising,, it would be really silly to buy a package. However we do like to have the bottled water in the room for taking meds and the convenience of the occasional sip as needed. I think the upcharge is shocking but we'll pay it for our next 12 day cruise because it's better than paying out the package fees, even though for us, as Canadians, that's more like 32 Canadian dollars for the twelve bottles.

  18. Never got the bottled water. Totally enjoyed my cruise two weeks ago – Discovery Princess – Alaska cruise.

  19. We take our own water and soda usually. Last time we didn't bring water, but we had water bottles and just filled them ourselves!

  20. Since my husband drinks a lot of water I would definitely get the premier package
For our next cruise I already bought the water pkg for $7 so glad I did before the price incease

  21. It's obvious that without a package you're going to get overcharged heavily. I'm surprised they don't charge more for the specialty restaurants if you sail without a package. I'm waiting for them to charge for ice tea.

  22. I don’t order bottled water on a cruise. I bring my own water bottle and fill it with ice and water when I leave the ship in port. I ask for a glass of water at the bar when I’m on the ship. It’s possible that bottled water is RO water like tap water is on the ship.

  23. We sailed from Brisbane to Seattle earlier this year on the Luminosa. We had some issues, seems this is a cruise Carnival uses to “pay off” their hard core gamblers. We have never been on this kind of cruise before, and it is NOT one we would do again. That being said, you should know that the Luminosa is an older ship, and it really feels like it. While we overall enjoyed the trip, there were some excellent ports of call, we would not choose to sail on this ship again. If you decide to cruise on the Luminosa, do some investigation before you go.

  24. I will no longer order the water. I’ll just refill my bottle more often in the Buffett. I don’t buy the Princess packages since I don’t drink.

  25. They constantly , pushing people for specialty restaurants where they can charge you more . They reduce the services, the benefits of regular cruise package to pressure people to upgrade to Plus or Premier. They intentionally make people feel like a second class citizen if they are just a regular cruisers .
I think this is the beginning of the end for Princess, people will walk away ……!!….

  26. Have you ever thought about how much money they are making on the packages if they are pushing them this hard. Secondly, I just fill my water bottle in the buffet.

  27. Thank you Alison! Yes, I pre-puchased both the bottled water as it was so cheap and even 18 cans of Diet Coke because it was also discounted compar3d to buying it by the can once onboard. I also brought on the allowed 12 cans of Coke Zero (which they didn’t offer onboard) and didn’t get the package. My friend her booked her own Balcony did get the Plus and so gave me the cans she was allowed to bring onboard. Princess will likely raise the Soda price too. I just booked Princess to Alaska from San Francisco. Yes, I am getting the Plus Package. The fact that it went out of San Francisco is already big plus for us. The cost to fly rountrip to Seattle, stay even one night was high. As several cruises are leaving on Aug 22nd, my guess is a fair number have already booked hotels. The prices for what is left is ridiculous. I am not talking a luxury hotel. Just a hotel with air conditioning! Add the round trip airfare, hotel, meals and transfers to the cost of a 7 night Royal cruise, even with my Royal perks, was higher than taking Princess’s 11 night cruise out of San Francisco. Thanks also for exciting info that Carnival going to homeport the (formerly Costa) Luminosa at San Francisco. More options from San Francisco is great news!
