Hida beef from a little shack at the side of the road in Takayama is the best I’ve ever had. I damn near had an existential crisis after taking the first bite. It just fell apart in my mouth, and any previous opinions I had about good beef fell apart with it. I’ve never tasted anything like it.
I’m sure several hours of walking on an empty stomach had something to do with it too…
Mind blowing beef and a beer for around £5.
£15 later I continued my walk. Best breakfast ever.
