We spent 18 days in Japan (again!) as country 13 of our world travel sabbatical exploring cities north of Tokyo! Difficult choices were made to maximize our time and energy so there’s still plenty we didn’t get a chance to do. Budget breakdown below ⬇️

We budgeted our costs across these categories:
✈️ Transportation (trains, taxis)
🏠 Lodging (Hotel, Airbnb)
🍛 Food (🍣🍜🍈)
🎉 Activities (🏔🚠)
📲 Other (luggage new/repair, summer cooling products, skincare, health insurance, e-SIM)

Our daily budget we’re trying to stick to is $250/day as full-time travelers and we spent:
Country total = $5,479.93
Daily average = $304.44
Total running daily average = $249.56

At $304, we were way over our $250 daily budget for Japan…as inevitably happens when we do tons of activities in a country we enjoy traveling to!
