  1. I'm not a big fan of underground shopping areas. But in a city as densely packed as Tokyo, I guess it makes senses.

I prefer to do my shopping outside of caves.

  2. I explored this station several times. You can easily spend an entire day and not see everything. You're gonna get lost, too, but it's fun

  3. When I first came to Japan in my middle school years undergrounds, particularly Yokohama and Tokyo, were places my folks would drop us off and let us roam and shop on our own. I never even ventured above ground until my college years. I didn't even realize there was more stuff to see at street level. LOL. Pre-internet and mobile phones days. Good times.

  4. Love these store and shopping tours to see the mdse they sell in Tokyo.
I like the fall food items and I am a sucker for pumpkin flavored foods.
Talk about getting lost, each corridor had 3 separate lanes of stores and restaurants.
You definitely need a map as a newcomer there.
The convenience stores in Japan put the convenience stores to shame here in the US.
Too bad they dont open up stores here in the US.

  5. I have a question for you. perhaps you can help elaborate on it. Why doesn't Japan sell much online to other countries?

  6. Hi, John. Have you ever been inside the cafe at the train station 🚉? Is there anything yummy and worth eating 🍽️?

  7. It’s so convenient to shop and dine in this underground Tokyo SHINKANSEN, as it is so MASSIVE just like a shopping 🛍️ arcade 😊One can probably spend a whole day inside this underground train station/ shopping arcade and to avoid rain as well and typhoon 🌀 as well 😁😄😄

  8. Oh, by the way….i just had a second thought……🧐🤔what happens when there is a huge downpour/rainstorm ? Would the underground shops and restaurants all be totally flooded ?

  9. Thanks for the small tour John.

More small tour like these of some popular stations and places would be awesome. 😊

  10. Question, with all those people and stores down there under the station, where are all the toilets ?
Thank you for taking us all round John.

  11. John, have you and your family ever been to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 SAR ? There is this iconic / historic/ world heritage landmark in TSIM SHA TSUI. That is the Clock Tower that sounds out every 15 minutes until the full hour strikes. This Clock Tower used to be the Grand KOWLOON CANTON RAILWAY Train Station 🚉 and it is the last station 🚉 on the Kowloon side. Now it is no longer a train station, but it is still in its original place and sits outside the HK Culture Centre. You and your family should come to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 for a visit 😀😀

  12. Lastly, John, are you aware that ONLY IN JAPAN 🇯🇵, it is the only place in the whole world where waxed look-alike food displays are at its very best and what you see in restaurant shop display glass cases is exactly what you get in the eateries / restaurants…..WYSIWYG !
