    Also, not going to lie, I was familiar with the term Maiko for geisha…but I haven't heard the term Geiko before. Heck…only time I've seen that name was Geico, but that's an insurance company. (And with a single letter changed.)

    And speaking of Maiko…I had heard that there are places where tourists can get "Maiko makeovers" complete with costume rentals and full makeup. Are those still around?

  4. Geiko have so much grace and talent!They're truly skilled performers, and a huge part of why I became interested in learning about Japanese culture back in middle school. Being a guest at an ozashiki is on my bucket list!
