Made “Kakuni” (stewed pork belly) in the slow cooker today for the first time. Turned out great!

Matched great with Aooni IPA.

It was super simple to make.
Will put the recipe in the comments.

    Slow Cooker Kakuni
    (Stewed Pork Belly)

    1lb pork belly

    Green Onion (top half)

    3 cloves garlic

    Minced ginger

5tbsp each of: soy sauce, cooking sake, sugar

    1 cup water

    1 bouillon cube

Cut pork belly into 3 or 4 inch cubes.
Layer top (green) part of green onion on bottom of slow cooker. Place pork on top.

    Add all other ingredients.

Cook on high for 4 hours.

*Add hard boiled eggs if desired.

*Beware overcooking. Remove from heat after 4 hours for best results. If you do add eggs, remove after 2 hours.

Looks fantastic. What are those side dishes with it?

Good kakuni is a wonderful thing. You paired it with probably my favourite Japanese beer. Nice work, OP.
