We’re in Puerto Rico for this episode! Alongside my local Puerto Rican friend Luis, we take you on a mouthwatering adventure through the heart of Puerto Rico’s mountains along La Ruta del Lechón, a road famous for its incredible roasted pork (Lechon). As you drive through lush green landscapes and winding roads, we come to La Ruta del Lechon, and all of the vibrant roadside stalls where whole pigs are slow-roasted over open fires.

We decided to eat at El Rancho Original, an amazing place for the Puerto Rican food feast!

The crispy, juicy pork melts in your mouth, perfectly paired with freshly muddled mojitos bursting with tropical flavors. Each bite and sip immerses us deeper into the rich culinary traditions that make this Puerto Rican food so special.

But our journey doesn’t stop at lechón! We also visit a quaint mountain bakery tucked away in a quiet village. The warm aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries greets us as we step inside. From flaky pastelillos to sweet coconut and guava-filled treats, this stop gives us a taste of the island’s sweeter side.

Join us as we savor these local delights and uncover the authentic flavors of Puerto Rico’s countryside that most tourists don’t visit!

Awesome to see you in my Home❤

  2. This reminds me so much of the years I lived in Puerto Rico when my company sent me to work there. The food, the weather, the people are wonderful.
I had the best New York style cheesecake I ever had in my life in PR. Once the big bosses visiting from the States tasted it, they begged my to get them more.

  3. From all this I want some lechon Now an for the clicker I would have Quesitos All day Every day 😂😂🎉 thks my friend for sharing

  4. I love Luis' energy! He's hilarious and such a great guide. And the food looks incredible. The lechon, the plaintains, arroz con gandules, and all the baked goods look unreal. I've never been big on the iron-rich flavor of blood or organs like liver, but I'd be willing to give the morcilla a try, too!

  5. Wonderful! Puerto Rico is so close to me, as I live in Connecticut, which is a small state near New York. There are a lot of Puerto Ricans, here in the capital city Hartford, one whole section has lots of restaurants, shops, and other places. I've tried some the food. I also have a neighbor who is PR, and brings me some food once in awhile. I do hear that Island wonderful beaches and the jungle and forest.

  6. Los pasteles los crearon los esclavos africanos de la isla. Rellenaban la masa que hacian con los guineos de las plantaciones que le daban para comer con las sobras de la carne que se cocinada en la casa de los señores. No me gusta decir amos. Para saciar el hambre. Y los envolvian e. Hojas y hervian. Una versión del fufu africano
