Today’s virtual walking tour is through the port town areas of Nanotsu, Nagahama and Minato in Fukuoka.
Facing Hakata Bay, it’s a very interesting area to walk around despite being in the heart of the city, with a fresh fish market, shipyards and a warehouse district that serves as a logistics hub.
The main features of this area are the Nagahama yatai (food stalls) and Nagahama ramen, which are popular with tourists visiting Fukuoka, but since it was morning the food stalls had not yet set up and I was able to enjoy a different atmosphere to that of the evening.
It was before the typhoon got closest and no warnings had been issued yet, but I felt the occasional wind getting stronger little by little.
