**After I created this video, major updates were announced for Suica, Welcome Suica, and Pasmo. Please stay tuned for the next video, where I’ll give you more details!

Japan is experiencing a surge in popularity among international tourists. In June 2024 alone, over 3.13 million visitors came to Japan, an 8.9% increase from last year, marking the fourth consecutive month of over 3 million visitors—a record high. This influx of tourists has brought various changes to Japan that you need to know about, both positive and negative, before you travel.
These changes range from positive updates like “the return of the Suica card”, “faster immigration procedures for foreign travelers”, and “expanded flight routes by Japanese airlines”, all making travel easier and more affordable.
On the other hand, there are also challenges, such as “concerns over the Nankai Trough earthquake risk” and “issues like the fake Kobe beef scandal”.
In this video, I’ve compiled the top 8 updates you need to know. By watching, you’ll ensure your trip to Japan is smoother, more comfortable, and even more enjoyable. So stay tuned till the end!

  1. Whenever we do travel to Japan, when is an off tourist season ? Meaning the less amount of tourists of the year? What I would do is fly into Tokyo, Exchange currency, buy personal items we need, hit some of the top street venders, get some bento boxes and take a train, ferries and head to the country sides and stay at the old very traditional, as little western influence as possible Ryokans with onsen.

  2. Si los japoneses estan algo molesto con el turismo…ahora los ciervos de Nara y las estafas😓😓😓 Que horror!

  3. Thank you Toshi. Great info! I'm going in Dec. Megaquake? Travelers don't listen to the fear mongering of the media. Japan is safe.

  4. I’m excited to go to Japan in November! Thank you for all the amazing updates! Keep up the good work. 😊

  5. Thanks for an update. There are so many new and convenient infrastructure undergoing in Japan. That’s excited.

  6. My trip to japan is next week. I can't wait. 😊 your videos have been so helpful!

  7. I just went to Japan from August 3-12. I visited Tokyo, Hiroshima, Kyoto and Osaka! I was there when the quake hit, even receiving the alert on my phone. I know I was far away and did not feel it. My trip was great! I used the Welcome Suica card with no problems. I do see that the Yen is getting stronger. I did a lot of shopping!

  8. Simple. If you don't know how to respect people, animals, cultures etc, jus stay at home. Dun go anywhere. Dun even leave your house in your own country. Stop being a nuisance to other people. First, geishas followed by mount fuji. Now, the deers! I cannot fathom wat is goin on in e minds of these so called 'tourists'. Stop inflicting a bad name towards other well behaved tourists!
