I call this bukko-ji temple a hidden gem of kyoto because I was surprised at how peaceful and untouched by the crowds is.
Several resons to consider visiting this beautiful temple in kyoto:
1. It’s free!
2. It’s very close to the Kyoto main station.
3. It’s still not crowded with tourists because most of the tourists go to the main attractions like Arashiyama Bamboo Forest. And they are pretty crowded but if you don’t mind crowds, they are good too.😁 We wanted to discover Kyoto besides it’s crowds.
4. It’s a very peaceful buddhist temple where the monks recite the prayers too. We loved watching it. I felt like I was in Nepal for a while. 🤭
5. It’s huge and has a lot of space to walk around. We stayed for a few hours just enjoying the peace and the vibe.
