The CRAZIEST Street Food In OSAKA!! Izakaya Toyo is a Must Visit Place In Japan 🇯🇵

Osaka is famously known as Japan’s Kitchen so trying good food was top of our itinerary. We visited Izakaya Toyo, home to a hilarious flamethrower chef who cooks the most delicious tuna with a blowtorch. This stand-up street food restaurant featured on Netflix’s hit documentary so he has gained a huge amount of global attention and his story is so beautiful, it is really worth the watch.

Despite the popularity, we easily got a table and were able to sample all of his culinary delights whilst watching Toyo get to work with his blowtorch, indestructible hands and a cigarette hanging from his mouth. An izakaya in Japan is an establishment that serves alcohol and snacks so despite the boiling hot weather, we of course we had to indulge in a few beers and lemon sours alongside the freshest fatty tuna, lean tuna, broiled tuna, sushi and sashimi. We had the best afternoon trying all the seafood, drinking beers and getting to know the locals – we even learnt a few new Japanese words!
