Life in Philippine Slums: Dalahican, Cavite City

While exploring Google Maps, I stumbled upon a mysterious, unnamed spot in Cavite City, Philippines. This area, known as Barangay 5 and 7, was ravaged by a massive fire on July 14, 2024. Though businesses are absent and the map shows little, the heart of this community beats stronger than ever.

Thanks to the support from Cavite City’s local government, the residents are rebuilding their homes and lives. Nestled along the coast, this neighborhood faces challenges from both fires and storm surges, but its spirit remains unshaken. Despite the harsh conditions and living in slum-like environments, this is a place they proudly call home.

Come along on a walking tour to witness their incredible resilience and see how this community is rising from the ashes. Let’s explore together!

  1. Remarkable the resileance and strenght of these folks smiling after their tragedy a month ago when that fire took away what they had in their simple friendly community, that they now can recover and rebuild as possible though still in same area as in the other videos you shared before the fire which I saw, I am happy for them and wish them all much more as time comes. thanks for the views from Guyana, South America. I see you trying to find your way out. …

  2. Magandang gabi. Isang buwan na ang lumipas mula noong malaking sunog, at napakaraming nagawa, masaya ako para sa iyo, masipag kayong mga tao, napakaraming mga bagong gusali, isang tindahan ang nabuksan.
