During my 24-hour stay in Silom, Bangkok, I immersed myself in the vibrant heart of the city while enjoying the luxurious comfort of The Standard Hotel. Located at the iconic Mahanakhon Tower, the hotel offered stunning panoramic views of the Bangkok skyline, setting the tone for an unforgettable day. My morning started with a visit to Arabacia Coffee, a cozy café known for its exceptional brews and chic ambiance.

Next on my itinerary was a leisurely stroll through Lumphini Park, a verdant oasis in the midst of the bustling city. The park’s tranquil lakes, lush lawns, and winding paths offered a refreshing contrast to the urban landscape.

As the sun began to set, I headed back to Silom’s streets, ready to experience the area’s renowned nightlife. From lively bars to vibrant street food markets, Silom’s nightlife is an eclectic mix of the traditional and the contemporary.

As night fell, I ventured into Silom’s famous entertainment spots, including the energetic Patpong Night Market and the trendy bars along Soi 4.

The market buzzed with activity, offering everything from eclectic souvenirs to delicious street food,

My 24 hours in Silom were a perfect blend of relaxation, exploration, and excitement, showcasing the multifaceted charm of one of Bangkok’s most dynamic neighborhoods.

  1. If you have any recommendations for further episodes for this '24 HOURS IN…' series please let me know below….
    Other ares of Bangkok…
    Other provinces in Thailand…
    Other Islands….

  2. Paddy, you fit right in with T-shirt and shorts. That is how I usually dress 95% of the time mate 💓. I can careless what others think of me either.

  3. im going there just for the Croissante!!!!!!!! I thought the room was a bit crap for that price. Probably better to stay nearby and pay the fee for the roof top bar

  4. At 00:44, what's this about a "deep dive"? You're only staying one night in Silom. Also, many may not agree with you that the King Power Mahanakhon is the most "beautiful building".

  5. Love the Standard ❤ My husband and myself stayed there last year & had a blast! This video makes us miss Bangkok so much and cannot wait to head back there! Love their all you can eat breakfast and my goodness the rooftop bar was amazing!!! Thanks for posting this video Paddy😊

  6. This is ABOSLUTELY AWESOME!! I love this “24 HOURS IN” series. I am sure plenty of your viewers are loving this too.😍 THANK YOU❣️ for giving us an in- depth look of the different neighborhoods/enclaves in Bangkok. This is so helpful for people like us who are planning to retire in Thailand or make it a home base in Asia.
Maybe after you have explored as many neighborhoods in Bangkok… you could also do this same series of different neighborhoods in Chang Mai’s and Huahin, etc. Thanks again. 😊 Great job!👏🏼

  7. Nice intro to Silom, Paddy. Most younger dudes and middle-age dudes always prefer Thailand. Folks in their retirement are now looking at other neighbouring countries such as Malaysia, the most underrated country in South East Asia for more value 😅

  8. You convinced me to move to Thon buri. I'm moving there this next year. I've done my research and got even more excited.
Thank you for turning me onto it.

  9. Super cool room – But B10,000? – wow that's expensive! AUD $431.00. For years, I have always stayed around the Silom/Sathorn area. I absolutely love going to Lumpini in the morning and using the outdoor gym – those monitor lizards are super quick. The cats in the park are always on guard for them. Patpong isn't what it use to be but Shenanigans pub is pretty good. Ive been to the 'W' for a few afternoon beers as my friend was working up the road at BCC. Honestly, Bkks best bathroom.

  10. Nah, thong lor is way more expensive that silom/sathorn. I've lived in sathorn for 12 years and it's not expensive. It can be, in parts, but it's mostly reasonable. This title is completely misleading, as is your presentation of the Arabica. It's like 160 baht or so for a latte up there, which is the same price that Starbucks, in a mall, would charge. Yes, this area has high end stuff, but more so it's just normal people with great value for money spots. It's also way different to Sukhumvit, in the type of people, both foreign and local, who live here. Good on you for getting to the House on Sathorn, which used to be the old Russian Embassy. It's great for aft tea and cocktails. The toilet is made completely of marble and is the best toilet (cause of the temperature) that I've been in in all my time in Thailand. Anyway, loads more spots in Sathorn to explore (Justmag, a hidden gem), but yeah, you can't make a vid on all of it. Good job giving a pretty good overview of the area. Do a few more and get stuck in to the fun value for money spots, like the restaurant called Larb Ubon, and then all the things down Sathorn soi 1. Silom and Sathorn area needs a full-on series. Cheers.

  11. Haha The Shining. Absolutely. I thought wow these aisles very strange. The room‘s too much retro for me but anyway, nice video. Thanks. Watching from Zurich and wish I could go back to B soon, after some 20 years. Best
