I was here for 5 days last autumn. Stayed in a guesthouse far from the town, but it was only 7000 yen a night! I went up to Hachijofuji but I just walked, there's a forest trail that starts behind the airport. I really liked ashitaba, I had it in everything from ramen to ice cream. I also enjoyed the seaside bench and the onsens near Mihara. Shoutout to Poseidon Restaurant. Not very… Italian but still delicious and they had a lot of craft beer from the mainland.

This looks really lovely, and I love that there are no chains or combini. Only authentic local food. Although I'm sure the locals don't always agree. That poor kitty! I wonder how he lost his foot. But golly they're cute.
Nature is great but from the sight of a western tourist, the place looks a bit odd with almost no restaurants, the weird sauna and O2 room a.s.o.
